FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
Deposits are there to protect the artists from no-shows and last-minute cancellations. The deposit you leave is non-refundable but will be deducted from the total price of your tattoo. Leaving a deposit lets us know you are serious about getting tattooed. If you book an appointment and do not turn up, your artist does not get paid, and you have prevented someone else from getting tattooed. We take a deposit to make sure people commit to their appointment time and turn up. Also, some custom tattoos are drawn up after work, after hours in the artists free time which can take hours in some cases. When people don’t show up, they have lost precious time drawing a tattoo. Failure to notify us within 48 hours or after more than 3 reschedules will result in the loss of your deposit and the need to pay a new one to secure a new booking.
DO YOU DO WALK INS?
Sometimes it is possible to come in and get tattooed on the same day, but we can’t guarantee we will have time or that the preferred artist you want to work with will be available. To make sure you can get your tattoo done on the day you want and by your chosen artist its best to book and appointment. Every customer is important to us, we customise every tattoo, so it is unique for each customer. We want to give your design our full time and not just rush things for a quick buck, tattoos are for life and we aim to create a piece that you will be proud of every single day, making an appointment helps us achieve this.
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
To do this you are welcome to fill out our contact form, email, contact through our social media pages or pop into the store and have a chat with your chosen artist about your tattoo idea then book your appointment. You can also arrange a free consultation to discuss your design and ideas before you book your appointment. You must leave a non-refundable deposit to confirm all bookings.
WILL I LOSE MY DEPOSIT IF I CANCEL OR DON’T TURN UP?
Yes, you will, however we understand sometimes things happen that prevent people from turning up, if you can’t make your appointment, please try to give us a least 48 hours’ notice and we can rebook you for another time and you won’t lose your deposit. If something terrible has happened to you on the day of your tattoo phone us as soon as you can, and we will try and rebook you. If you need to cancel or move your appointment and give us more than 48 hours’ notice we will keep the deposit as shop credit for you. Failure to notify us within 48 hours or after more than 3 reschedules will result in the loss of your deposit and the need to pay a new one to secure a new booking.
HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO COST?
We charge hourly rate for our tattoos. There are a lot of factors to consider while pricing a tattoo, size, detail, placement and most importantly how well you sit, these all determine the final cost of the tattoo, it is extremely hard to give an accurate quote due to these factors. Some of our artists have flat rate prices for certain style tattoos which we will inform you of if you enquire. Some artists prices vary due to how fast they tattoo.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?
Our age policy is over 18, if you are under 18 you will need parental consent your parent MUST be present with you in person, you will need to fill out a parental consent form and you will both need photo ID.
CAN I BRING IN MY OWN DESIGN?
Absolutely, if you have a design, you already have designed yourself or for you then bring it in with you, if it is exactly what you want, we can make a stencil directly from your design if it is fit for tattooing or we can re draw it for you, so it is perfect. If it is a design of the internet by another artist, we recommend making changes to it so its is customised for you and not something that who know how many other people around the world has on their body.
I KNOW WHAT I WANT BUT I CAN’T DRAW!
Don’t panic, we specialise in custom tattoos. Our Polynesian designs will be custom designed for you directly on your skin on the day of your appointment so it flows with your unique shape, come in and have a chat with one of our artists, they will be able to draw your design for you, if you have reference pictures that is always good to help us know what you like and want your tattoo to look like but we also have lots of reference books we can look through together and get your idea out of your head onto paper and onto your skin.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CONSULTATION!
You may pop in during our open hours without an appointment or book a consultation by telephone, in person, by email, on our online booking service or on any of our social media platforms, as we need to check the diary with you in real time, we are busy and quite often by the time emails have been replied to spaces have already gone. Consultations are free of charge and have no obligation.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Be on time for your appointment or if you are running late call us on 045504452 and let us now, if you are more than 30mins late we will look to fill your spot, all we need is to be updated, we understand that things arise that are out of your control.
It's best if you've had a good night’s sleep and eaten something substantial before getting tattooed. The healthier you feel the better the experience will be.

WILL IT HURT?
We aren’t going to sugar coat it, yes tattoos hurt, but pain is subjective. Everyone feels pain differently. Don’t listen to your friends about their experience cos how they feel pain and the areas, they feel it may be completely different to you. Yes, there are body parts that are can be more tender than others, but we can discuss that with you. At the end of the day, it’s not how tough you are that will get you through your tattoo, it’s your mental strength. Remember pain is weakness leaving your body! Plus, we pride ourselves in making your tattoo experience comfortable and memorable and if all else fails, we have some super tasty candy on the house, to help take your mind off things.
HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY TATTOO?
Your artist will explain exactly how to look after your tattoo. If you do forget don’t hesitate to contact us. We are happy to reconfirm with you.
Please follow their instructions carefully. The main thing is to wash/clean your tattoo to prevent infection.
Don’t submerge your tattoo in water while the skin is still healing so no swimming in the ocean or pools. No picking or scratching your tattoo and no direct sunlight while healing. To ensure your tattoo stays as fresh looking as possible please practice good sun blocking as the sun can fade your tattoo over time.
DO YOU DO TRADITIONAL SAMOAN TATTOOS?
We don’t do them ourselves, but we do have a Tufuga (traditional Samoan tattoo artist) who works out of our studio.
If you are serious about getting a hand tapped traditional piece please email Su’a Peter Suluape – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please be patient with response time, he is a very busy man and will get back to your email asap.
You an also contact us and let us know your contact details after you have emailed him and we can let him know to keep an eye out for your email.
IM NOT POLYNESIAN OR MAORI, CAN I GET THESE TYPES OF TATTOOS?
Yes you can. The one thing to remember when getting these styles is to insure the artist who is gifting you these patterns fully understands what they are giving you and are not just copying what they see off the internet.
